TLC Counsellors

The Counselling Service is staffed by qualified and experienced counsellors.  All of our counsellors are members of a professional counselling/psychotherapy body such as the BACP, UKCP, BPS etc, and are insured in their practice and undertake monthly clinical supervision. Further information about the professional bodies can be found here

What to expect from Counselling

Information on what you can expect from counselling and from your counsellor can be found here.

You can self-refer and we also take referrals from GPs, the Primary Care Mental Health Team, Social Services, other statutory and third sector organisations and public and private companies in the Greater Manchester region.

When we receive your referral we will contact you to arrange an assessment so that you can be allocated to a counsellor who best meet your needs.

We are able to offer sessions during weekdays, including some evenings.

TLC ST Luke's Counsellors are trained and experienced in dealing with a diverse range of issues including helping people to cope with:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Abuse (sexual/physical/emotional)
  • PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
  • Bereavement
  • Loss
  • Relationship Problems

As a registered charity, donations are gratefully received to help with room hire and travel expense costs for volunteer counsellors. We therefore ask for a minimum donation of £6.00 per session. However, our policy is that we do not refuse individuals if they are unable to meet this requirement.
