TLC ST LUKE’S DROP IN PROJECT

 

 

SUPPORT ASSISTANT

 

 

A Support Assistant is required on an initial short term basis to support staff at TLC St Luke’s which is a charity working with people identifying as living with mental health issues. The charity has been working in the Ardwick area for over 30 years. We offer a range of activities and coffee and connect sessions at 2 venues in Ardwick.

This position is for 5 hours per week-On Tuesday between 11.45am -2.15pm and Thursday from 3.45-6.15pm. The rate of pay is £11 per hour . The job is offered initially for a period of 6 months.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

  1. 1setting up the venue for activities
  2. 2welcoming clients to the sessions
  3. 3preparing tea/coffee
  4. 4keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy throughout and at the end of the session
  5. 5chatting to clients during the sessions and assisting with activities—crafts, board games, quizzes
  6. 6ensuring the venues are left clean, tidy, and secure at the end of the sessions
  7. 7Any other duties related to the safe running of the sessions

 

Person Specification

 

  1. 1Experience of working with people with managed mental health issues would be desirable but not essential
  2. 2An open friendly manner with the ability to listen to people in a non-judgemental way
  3. 3Able to be flexible in terms of duties
  4. 4Able to work in line with TLC St Luke’s policies which include Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding and Health and Safety. You will receive training.
  5. 5A DBS will be required-TLC will finance this check
  6. 6Basic ability to use IT desirable but not essential

 

TLC St Luke’s is a small friendly charity, non faith based and a welcoming place to work. The appointed person will agree to comply with Government guidelines re Covid and TLC St Luke’s interpretation of these guidelines including being vaccinated, mask wearing and regular lateral flow testing.
